Your mental health is important and it's okay to ask for help if you're feeling down or anxious.
Mental health is all about how you feel about things in your life. This could be your friendships, your relationship with parents, how you’re getting on at school and much more. The most important thing to remember is that no matter what the reason, you can get help. There are lots of people whose job it is to support you.
The first things you can try if you are struggling with mental health are:
- talking to someone you trust about how you're feeling. This could be a parent, teacher, school counsellor, support worker, SEND Coordinator or Designated Safeguarding Officers in your school
- go online and find support through websites like Young Minds, Off the Record North Somerset or the NHS
- ring HOPELINEUK on 08000 684 141 or the Samaritans on 116 123
- text SHOUT to Shout's text line on 85258
- talk to the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) through their website
If you feel like you may attempt suicide, or you have seriously hurt yourself, you can:
- call 999 and ask for an ambulance
- tell an adult you trust and ask them to call 999
