Essential contact details for referrals, concerns and support
Report a concern
Members of the public can report a concern by contacting Care Connect. Care Connect is North Somerset’s single point of access. The concern will be recorded by Care Connect and reviewed by the Front Door.
Monday to Friday 8am to 6pm (out of hours contact will be redirected to the out of hours team).
If you are a professional who wants to report a concern
If you are a professional, you will need to complete a request for support form. This can then be emailed directly to our Front Door team who will triage the request and provide an outcome of your referral within 48 hours.
In your email, please indicate the level of your concern by stating green, amber, orange or red alongside a brief sentence explaining why. You can refer to the 'continuum of need' on page 7 of our effective support for children, young people and families document to help you decide your level of concern.
A member of the team will then contact you to discuss the child’s level of need in more detail. Together we will determine the best pathway for the child.
Professional consultation line
If you are a practitioner and are unsure about a situation involving a child or family, you can contact the consultation line for advice from the on-duty social worker.
Issue resolution policy (formerly escalation policy)
We believe that continual feedback is an important part of improving and raising standards. We are committed to being transparent and seeking a timely resolution which is in the best interest of the child or young person.
This policy is for all agencies across the partnership to enable agency to agency resolution. This includes both statutory and third sector agencies.
