Free adolescent safety framework training sessions

Training sessions will be held at Castlewood in rooms G8/9/10.

28 November 2024 1.30pm to 4.30pm

These sessions are a North Somerset Safeguarding Children's Partnership initiative to:

  1. understand the experiences of children and young people
  2. improve the quality of co-ordinated and consistent multi-agency safety planning when children are experiencing harm outside the home
  3. identify children and young people early to increase safety, build on strengths and enable pro-social identity development
  4. ensure evidence-informed and consistent multi-agency interventions
  5. understand strategic and operational issues affecting children and young people at risk outside their home

During the session you will develop an understanding of young people’s experiences of significant harm beyond their families and how to respond (contextual safeguarding).

You will understand the new adolescent safety framework including:

  • the underpinning theoretical approach
  • the model of multi-agency coordination
  • the pathway for the assessment of need and provision of help
  • the toolkit for professionals

We will identify and champion your role and responsibilities in changing culture and practice for children and young people in North Somerset.
